The Riff Riders:”Hit the Road”

Hit the Road is the first album for Erie, PA’s Riff Riders, but it won’t be the last, I’m sure. I am always happy to hear another strong female-led band, and Amy “Shally” Shallenberger is definitely strong. Hers if the sort of full voice that is capable of handling the hardest blues-rock, rockabilly and straight blues. She is ably backed by e Riff Riders Sean Seth on lead and cigar box guitar, Otis James on harmonica, bassist Tony LaPaglia and drummer Joe Caprara. Together, they make fabulous, unbridled, non-stop music. The songs are original and each one holds the listener’s interest. I strongly suggest you pick this one up as soon as possible!

I am the author of a number of books, including Southern Crossroads: Georgia Blues, T;Ain't Nobody's Business If I Do, about blues women, The Irish Slaves, a non-fiction work about Irish History, and Haunted Marietta, a nook from the History Press about my hometown of Marietta, GA and its ghosts. I am a member and sponsor of The Atlanta Blues Society.
